July 12-2011
I have shared many hours of fellowship with Don here at Kern Park Christian Church. He was a mentor to me and he ecouraged me in my Christian walk. I admired his up-beat spirit and positive approach to life. He was faithful to God, his country and to his church. He leaves behind many friends and family members who have gained so much from Don's Christian life. He will be missed.

Don Rice was a good and decent man of God. In his second career he managed a cooperative warehouse that supplied many northwest Oregon school districts with various products obtained at volume generated reduced prices. That is the power of cooperative buying. I worked for Merle Frame (who worked for Don) as hired summertime warehouse help for five summers. Don was a patient employer with young, barely adult, men. He was thoughtful and kind to his employees which was a reflection of the spiritual content and values of his life.
Life is full of joy and sorrow but when we are with our Heavenly Father there is only joy. That is where I intend to see Don someday.
